In our Focal Scripture, the psalmist speaks of how the Lord restores his soul. The soul is the inner man, that warehouses the emotions and thoughts of a mortal. The psalmist seemed to infer that there are times when his mind has gone out of control, but the Lord restores same. The Lord brings his mind back to order. There may have been times when what the psalmist passed through, caused him to lose his mind, but the Lord restored it.
Friend, I pray for you: at times when your mind strays and is out of control, may the Lord bring it back in order. May the Lord restore your mind from every scar it has suffered. May the Lord cause your soul to be brought back in order. May the Lord cause your thoughts to align with His will. May the Lord cause your thoughts to be in agreement with His thoughts and plans for you. May the Lord cause your inner man to be put together.
There are times when the words of men will rip your soul apart; there are times when the treatment you receive from people around you will cause your inner man to be badly scarred and tormented; there are times when even your own failures and personal battles will take a huge toll on your mind and thoughts. I pray for you: when your mind is overwhelmed, may the Lord bring it back to where it ought to be. May your soul be restored.
You may not be able to stop people from doing what will negatively affect your mind. You may not be able to stop yourself from feeling hurt as a result of the words and actions and even inactions of people around you. You may not be able to stop your environment or circumstances from affecting your inner man. I pray for you: the same way the psalmist said that the Lord restores his soul, may the Lord always restore your soul.
Don’t allow your mind to remain out of order when you have a Shepherd on standby to restore it back to where it ought to be. Ask the Lord to restore your soul. Ask the Lord to bring back your soul whenever it strays.
