God told Joshua and the men of war to walk round the city of Jericho once a day for six days, but He instructed them to do the same journey seven times on the seventh day. In bible times, the seventh day was a day of rest. So on a day that should be a day of rest, God told Joshua and the men of war to step up their efforts. God commanded Joshua and his men of war to work harder. In place of rest, there was a command to do more.
Friend, it’s time to do more. Roll up your sleeves to achieve more than you have ever achieved. Work harder; increase your efforts; put in more creativity into your enterprise; intensify your efforts even in areas that have given you results; intensify your prayers concerning the challenges that are yet to crumble; step up your game. Break out of your comfort zone. Let laziness be exchanged with hard work. Let diligence and persistence be your watchword. Do more than you ever did before.
Greatness is not a tea party; greatness is not an invitation to do less and watch others do more; greatness is an invitation to more labour that will birth more results. Greatness is your invitation to leave the lazy and average folks behind. Greatness is not even for the chicken hearted; greatness is not for those that will commend themselves for yesterday’s labour and choose rest over more labour. Greatness is not for the faint.
God told Joshua and his men to walk round Jericho seven times on the seventh day; He made them work harder on the seventh day, and the walls of Jericho fell down flat. When God takes your rest, your walls of Jericho are about to go down. When God pushes you to step up your game, there are amazing results He wants to bring your way. When God pushes you to prepare more and more, He is getting you ready for your new season.
Your new season is calling you into more efforts than you ever made before. If you dare to do more, greater results will come your way. If you can discard rest and stay on the grind, you shall enter a new season of weightier blessings.
