Favoured For Rising

28th September 2020

Scripture Reading: John 5: 1-11

Focus

“After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.” (John 5: 1)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of how Jesus went up to Jerusalem at a time of the feast of the Jews. That movement to Jerusalem was an ‘up’ movement, and it eventually took Jesus to a point where He healed the man at the pool of Bethesda. Jesus did not necessarily go to Jerusalem because of that man at the pool of Bethesda. Jesus did not go up because of that man at the pool, but His going up favoured the man at the pool.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: the going up of others shall favour you. The elevation of others will work in your favour. The advancement that God is set to bring to people around you will work for your good. The open doors that God wants to make happen for people connected to you will work in your favour. The testimonies that will soon come to people around you will work in your favour. Their rising will favour you.

Jesus made an ‘up’ movement, and that ‘up’ movement resulted in a situation where a man who had been at the pool for thirty eight years rose to his feet and took up his bed. Jesus’ ‘up movement’ led to an ‘up’ movement in the life of thee man at the pool of Bethesda. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the rising of others will cause a rising to happen in your life. The elevation of others will trigger your own elevation.

Jesus’ rising to Jerusalem was not a harbinger of bad news for that man at the pool of Bethesda. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the rising of others will not lead to your own downfall. The advancement of people around you will not make a mess of your own good fortune. The elevation of people around you will not make life difficult for you. No man’s rising will cause you to go down. As they rise, you too will rise and come off better.

Stop worrying on account of those who are rising higher. If God be for you, their rising will lead to your own rising as well.

Declaration

As others rise, I will rise with them, in Jesus’ name!
