FEED YOUR NEW

28th August 2023

Scripture Reading: 1 KINGS 3: 16-28

Focus

“And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.” (1 Kings 3: 21)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when the woman who still had a living child arose to feed her child in the morning. She had just had a new baby, and she prioritized feeding the baby. She had an infant baby that could not feed himself/herself, and she arose to feed the child. She fed the new thing that God did for her. She fed the new thing that heaven made available to her. She fed her new so that it could grow and not die.

Friend, if God ever causes something new to spring forth around you, feed it, otherwise it will die. You have a responsibility to feed every new thing that God causes to arise around you. You have a responsibility to feed your new open doors. You have a responsibility to feed your ministry. You have a responsibility to feed your ideas and visions. You have a responsibility to feed the works of your hands. Feed your new before it dies.

Feed every new thing that God has caused to arise in your life. There are some you need to feed with wisdom; there are some you need to feed with loyalty and consistency; there are some you need to feed with prayers; there are some you need to feed with competence; there are some you must feed with ideas; there are some you must feed with greater commitment; there are some you must feed before they die.

When God does a new thing, it is often like a baby that needs to be fed, otherwise it will die. If you fail to feed what God has done for you, it will die. If you fail to feed your new opportunities, relationships, career, business, walk with God, etc., you just might be preparing to lose what God gave to you. If you fail to feed your new season, it may end up like your old season. If you fail to feed the new, it may not survive beyond a short while.

Don’t imagine that anything which God has given you can be sustained if you fail to feed it. Rise to the occasion and feed what you have received from the Lord. Feed your new and it will grow.

“And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.” (Isaiah 58: 11)
