Face Your Battles

Fight Your Battles

Scripture Reading: 2 King 9: 1-13

Focus

“And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:” (2 Kings 9: 1)

In our Focal Scripture, Elisha told one of the sons of the prophets to gird up his loins in preparation for a journey to Ramothgilead. In bible times, among other things, swords were tied to the girdle that was worn around the waist. So tucking in one’s garment into the girdle was a way of being battle ready. So that son of the prophet was to be ready for battle as he proceeded with his assignment at Ramothgilead.

Friend, as you proceed on your journey to the higher levels that God is set to bring you to, get ready to fight the battles that will come your way. Get in the warfare mode as you push into realms that God has destined for you. Get set to cut down the satanic afflictions that want to stop you; cut down the evil plantings of the enemy; cut down the attacks of the enemy against you; uproot every evil foundation.

That son of the prophet was on a divine assignment, and he needed a sword on his way to the place of accomplishment. If there be a door of human or divine assignment that has been opened to you, be careful to know that there would be adversaries. There are men that will rise against you, there are policies that will rise against you, there are altars that will rise against you, and you just must rise and crush them all.

The journey to the top is not without battles and opposition; and if you refuse to fight your battles, you are simply preparing to become a victim of the enemy. If you refuse to wield your sword, you just might be cut down by the sword of the enemy. If you fail to confront the enemy, you just might be making room for him to conquer you. No matter how intense the battles get, face it, fight it, crush the enemy, and enforce the victory that Christ won.

Rise as a warrior that you are; confront the enemy; take the battle to the enemy, and you will win again and again.

Declaration
