Forget The Evidence

13th March 2019

Scripture Reading: John 11: 1-44

Focus

“Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.” (John 11: 39)

When Jesus arrived at Lazarus’ grave and ordered that the stone be removed, Martha, the sister of Lazarus reminded Jesus that Lazarus had been dead for four days, and that his body should be stinking. Jesus came with the miracle of resurrection, but Martha would have none of that because Lazarus’ body was supposed to have begun decomposing. Martha looked at the evidence against Lazarus’ miracle, and she simply could not believe.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: forget every evidence that is standing against the miracle you seek; forget the doctor’s report that says there is no hope; forget the unfavourable economic reports; forget the haters that appear to have taken charge of events around you; forget the physical indices that say that your miracle or expectation may never become a reality; forget the physical evidence that says that nothing will change.

Jesus showed up and raised Lazarus from the dead despite the negative evidence to the contrary. Jesus showed up and saw an impossibility with clear evidence, but He turned it all around. When Jesus shows up, whatever evidence that is against your miracle will not matter anymore; when Jesus shows up, the theories against your rising won’t be valid anymore; when Jesus shows up, He shows off with everything He has in him.

Is there an evidence against a miracle you badly need or desire? Take the matter to Jesus, and watch Him shred all the evidence to nothing. Take your impossibilities to Jesus; take those matters against you to Jesus; take the decisions that have been taken against you to Jesus; take the doors that seem impossible to open to Jesus; take every battle poised against you to Jesus.

The same Jesus who raised Lazarus despite contrary evidence will also raise you in the places where you are already ‘buried and stinking’. The same Jesus who turns impossibilities around will turn yours around.

Declaration

No negative evidence shall stop my miracle, in Jesus’ name!
