While the puzzle on how to feed the multitude lingered, Andrew spoke up and told Jesus about a lad within the crowd who had five barley loaves and two small fishes. There was a multitude comprising of about five thousand men, excluding women and children, and right within that multitude, Andrew had the eagle eyes to spot out a lad who had five loaves and two fishes.
Andrew was Simon Peter’s brother; and it was Peter who, by revelation, declared that Jesus was Christ, the son of the Living God (see Matthew 16: 16). Andrew and Peter seemed to have the ability to hear and see things that others could not hear or see; theirs was a family of those who walked by divine revelation; theirs was a family of those who followed Jesus; theirs was a family with positive generational traits.
Friend, I pray for you: may every grace that is at work in you begin to work in those connected to you. May the favours that heaven has bestowed on you be evident in your family; may the blessings that God has released upon you be upon your family members as well; may it be said that there is a positive generational pattern in your dwelling; may it be said that you and those connected to you are game changers and solution bearers.
Peter and Andrew were from the same family, and they were both among the first twelve disciples of Jesus. They were among those who followed Jesus when others were yet to gain understanding. Again I pray: may your family be called that family that seeks and follows Jesus. May your family be called that family that is famous for their covenant relationship with the Master.
Don’t be counted among those who see nothing and hear nothing; like Andrew, be the one whose positive traits shall be called a generational trait.
