Guard Your Strength

9th December 2021

Scripture Reading: Judges 6: 1-14

Focus

“And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.” (Judges 6: 4)

When the Midianites came and encamped against Israel, they sustained their occupation of Israel and kept the destruction spree going until they came to Gaza. They made sure that the destruction got to the city of Gaza. The word ‘Gaza’ is interpreted to mean strength. So the enemies of Israel sustained their attacks against Israel so that it would affect their place of strength. The goal was to destroy their ‘Gaza’; the target was their ‘Strength”.

Friend, until today, the enemy has his eyes fixed on the place of your strength. The enemy wants to deplete your spiritual strength; he wants to reduce your financial strength; he wants to reduce the strength of your character; he wants to reduce the strength of your marriage; he wants to reduce the strength of your health; he wants to reduce the strength of your prayer altar; he wants to rob you of strength you need for your next level.

Today, make a commitment to retain and even increase your strength. Grow your strength. Raise your prayer fire. Increase in the place of your study of God’s word. Take your spiritual strength to a higher level. Constantly tune up the fire of God in your inner man. Guard against anything that wants to reduce your financial fire power. Do away with anything in you that puts your strength, both physical and spiritual, at risk.

No strong man is ever destroyed without being first bound. No destiny goes down without the power house of that destiny first suffering attack. No gate of hell will want to come against you when they are sure that you have enough spiritual firepower to match them and take them out. No enemy of your destiny will prevail against you without first draining you of the places of strength. There is no defeat until strength is defeated.

Don’t be counted amongst them who had their strength depleted. Don’t be that one that is facing the gates of hell, yet without strength.
