The woman in our Focal Scripture took Elisha’s instructions, and she went home, locked her door, and poured her oil into the vessels that her son brought to her from their neighbours. She went from movement and went into confinement, so that her oil could multiply. At a time when men would think that she was not moving or in the spotlight, something huge was happening inside her house. Her halted movement led to increase.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: every halting of movement will be a precursor to your increase. You may have been locked in for a while, and God says, expect increase soon. You may not have made much progress in a while, and God says, expect your next level to come soonest. You may have been halted by circumstances you did not plan for, and God says, you are about to make the sort of progress that is clearly unprecedented.
Just when neighbours would have thought the widow of one of the sons of the prophets was locked in, broke as ever, and possibly dejected and disadvantaged, God sprung a huge surprise that she would have least anticipated. Get set: in those moments when it seems that your sky is gloomy and your tunnel is dark, God will spring a huge surprise that will put you in the news. God will turn your halted movement into an unveiling of new chapters never seen before in your life.
Situations may halt your movement, but nothing can stop the unveiling of the new things that God is set to make happen in your life. Men may indeed stop you, but they cannot stop your next level from manifesting faster than expected. Men may write you off, dismiss your chances, condemn you for not being as successful as they are, but no judgement of man is weighty enough to halt the plan of God for your life.
Treasure your moments of ‘no movement’ as much as you can; as surely as the Lord lives, after the stoppage, there will be an increase.
