Apart from instructing Joshua to keep away from the accursed thing, God also instructed Joshua about the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, which were to be consecrated unto the Lord. Heaven had a benefit that was to accrue from the land of Jericho. It was not going to be all enjoyment for the children of Israel. There was a portion to be set apart for God Himself. God had some profit He expected from their entry into Jericho.
Friend, as you break into your new season, do well to remember that even God should make some profit from your new season. Heaven should be a major beneficiary from every destiny advancement that comes your way. Heaven should have reasons to smile as you rise to your next level. Heaven should have cause to make merry on account of the new doors and gates that have opened to you. Your Jericho has heaven’s gain in it.
It was not enough for the children of Israel to simply celebrate the possession of their Jericho. They also needed to set aside what heaven would have them set aside. Don’t be carried away with rejoicing over your new levels that you forget to set aside the portion that belongs to heaven. Don’t be too excited about your breakthroughs and forget to set aside heaven’s share in it. Don’t take your share and also take heaven’s share.
In the place of instruction, God told Joshua what should be set aside as heaven’s gain from their possession of Jericho. Allow the Spirit of God to instruct you on what will constitute heaven’s gain as you step into your Jericho. Make yourself vulnerable to the leadings of the Spirit of God, so that you will easily reckon when it is time to set aside the spoils that arise from your Jericho. Be sensitive to know what belongs to heaven in your space.
Remember, your Jericho is not entirely for your gain. Heaven has some gain it expects from your new season.
