His Presence

24th April 2021

Scripture Reading: Joshua 5: 13-15, 6: 1-6

Focus

“3. And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. 4. And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.” (Joshua 6: 3-4)

In our Focal Scripture, God commanded that all the men of war will walk round Jericho daily, for six days, accompanied by priests and the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark of the Covenant was a symbol of the presence of God. So the presence of God was to join in the journey around Jericho, and the result was that the men of war were not going to shoot an arrow. The presence of God was in the journey, so the men of war were not going to fight.

Friend, when the presence of God goes with you on a journey, you will not need to fight even when you are a man of war. When the presence of God accompanies you in your journey to your results, you won’t have to labour as you normally would in order to hit your targets. When you align with the presence of God, the things you would have needed to fight for will come your way on a platter of grace.

Distinction does not come necessarily from your ability to fight. Distinction comes when you go with the Ark. Distinction comes when you move with God. Distinction comes when the presence of the Lord makes a journey with you and in you. Distinction comes, not necessarily from your multitude of skills, or the quantum of your proficiency and abilities, but from the presence of God that makes your wall of Jericho fall with mere shouts.

In all your getting, get the presence of God into your journey. Get the Lord involved in your family. Get God involved in your successes. Get God involved in your efforts. Get God involved in your progress. Get God involved in your projects and plans. Get God involved as you march around your walls of Jericho. Get God involved as you engage in the expansion of your territory. Make the presence of God a permanent feature of your life.

Remember, the Ark got involved, and swords were no longer needed. Get the presence of God involved and you may not need your swords.
