Innocent Victim

7th March 2022

Scripture Reading: Acts 16: 16-39

Focus

Acts 16: 16-39“After a severe beating, they were thrown into jail, and the jailer was ordered to lock them up tight.” (Acts 16: 23 GNB)

When the masters of the damsel that had a spirit of divination saw that Apostle Paul had commanded the foul spirit to get out of her, they made plans for Paul and Silas to be beaten and thrown into prison. Paul was a Roman citizen, he was not meant to be treated shabbily and cruelly, there was no proper charge against him, but he was beaten openly and imprisoned. Paul was innocent, but treated as though he was guilty.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: every plot of the enemy to make you an innocent victim, I command that plot to scatter by fire. Every plan of the enemy to make you a victim of what you are not guilty of, I command it to scatter now. Every plan to make you a victim of another man’s mistakes and poor judgement, I command it to give way already. Every attack of the enemy against your good works, scatter by fire.

The magistrates had reason to apologize to Paul, but the damage and embarrassment had already happened. Paul had already been victimized in full, before it became clear that he had been treated wrongly. Hear me as I hear the Lord: every conversation that wants to make you a victim when you are innocent, I scatter it now. Every error or wrong perception that wants to mess you up, I command it to be diverted away from you.

Paul refused to speak up and identify himself as a roman citizen, until he had been beaten and taken into prison. He suffered as a victim before he spoke up and insisted that he was not meant to be a victim. Don’t allow the enemy to make a mess of your life before you remember that you are not meant to be a victim. Don’t allow the enemy and negativity to prevail over you before you insist that you are the child of the Most High.

Remember who you are and whose you are. You are not a victim, and you were not wired to be one.

Declaration
