It’s Your Assignment

5th July 2019

Scripture Reading: Ezekiel 37: 1-10

“And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.” (Ezekiel 37: 2)

When the hand of the Lord set Ezekiel down in the midst of a valley full of bones, Ezekiel beheld the bones, and indeed, they were very dry. These same dry bones eventually came back together, and arose as an exceeding great army, following the prophecy of Ezekiel. So as dead as they were, their resurrection was wrapped in Ezekiel’s prophecy; Ezekiel had the lifeline of the dry bones; the dry bones were Ezekiel’s assignment.

Friend, if there be dry bones around you, God says, it is your assignment; it is your assignment to cause every dead thing around you to come back to life; it is your assignment to cause everything around you that is dysfunctional to become functional; it is your assignment to cause the dead places around you to receive life; it is your assignment to cause the unproductive places around you to become productive.

Ezekiel was not taken round the dry bones so that he could get back into town and tell the tales of how he saw dry bones; he was not taken around the dry bones so that he could advertise the weakness of the bones that had died and become decrepit. He was taken around the dry bones so that he could speak life back into them. The dead things around you are not gossip topics; they are prayer and prophecy points for your necessary action.

If you have embraced the finished work of Christ, then you are His agent for the restoration of whatever is dead and dry around you. If Jesus has redeemed you, and if the supernatural life dwells in you, then let that life flow into the dead systems, dead finances, dead relationships, dead marriages, dysfunctional homes, etc around you. Let the life of God in you flow in and give life to dead things within your environment.

Remember, if it is a dead bone that should be alive, it is your job to bring it back to life.

Every dry bone is my assignment; it will come back to life through me, in Jesus’ name!
