It’s Your Command

29th November 2022

Scripture Reading: Genesis 37: 3-9

Focus

“And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:” (Genesis 37: 6)

In our Focal Scripture, Joseph told his brothers to ‘hear’ the dream that he had dreamt. The word ‘hear’ as used in that scripture comes from a Hebrew word ‘shema’ which connotes ‘a command’. So, put differently, as Joseph called them to hear the dream, he was subjecting them to his command. His dream became a platform for him to command people who were older than him. His dream became his commanding authority.

Friend, your dream is the place of your influence. Your dream is your tool for control and authority. Your dream will create your sphere of influence. Your dream is your chance to rule over the kings of this world. Your dream has enough potency to bring you to levels you never imagined you would ever attain. Your dream has the capacity to position you for greater levels. Your dream will put great men under your authority.

Your dream has the capacity to bring people who should be ahead of you to stay under you. Your dream is your bargaining chip in a world that is increasingly seeking for men who have something positive to offer. Your dream is the currency with which you will trade on earth. Your dream is the destination and should be the destination that God wants you to arrive at. Your dream is your divine capital for eventual greatness.

If you are busy toying with your dream and taking it lightly instead of seriously, just know that you are trading off your sphere of influence and authority, and don’t feel bad when you can’t command your generation. Your ability to command your generation lies in the potency and relevance of your dream. If you abandon your dream, you will have nothing to offer your generation and your generation won’t bow to you.

More than ever before, take your dream seriously. Don’t make light of it; don’t joke with it; don’t take it for granted; don’t belittle it, and don’t let anyone belittle it. Remember, your dream is your command.

Declaration
