In Numbers 13, Moses sent out spies to go and view the Promised Land. Ten of the spies came back with a bad report, inferring that it was impossible to take the land because the inhabitants were giants. They saw themselves as being incapable of possessing the land that God promised them. Joshua and Caleb insisted that they were well able to go up and take the land. Joshua and Caleb believed, the remaining spies didn’t believe.
Notice that eventually, God decreed that those who murmured against Him would not enter into the Promised Land. Those who didn’t believe in God’s ability to take them there, were all barred from entering into the Promised Land. Those who judged God to be incapable of completing what He started, were excluded from entering into the Promised Land. Their unbelief stood in the way of their entry into the land that God promised them.
Friend, did you know that unbelief can stop you from entering the land that God promised you? Did you know that failing to believe God can put you in a posture where you are unable to receive what God already ordained for you? Did you know that failure to trust God for what He has already said to you, can hinder you from being a partaker of what God promised? Did you know that unbelief can disconnect you from your portion?
Joshua and Caleb believed, they proclaimed that they were well able to take the country, and they arrived at the Promised Land. They believed, and their eyes eventually witnessed what they believed. Hear me as I hear the Lord: for every word of the Lord you have truly believed, your eyes will see the results. For every word of prophecy that you believed, God will cause it to become your reality. You will have what you believe.
Don’t be like those men who refused to believe, and ended up in the wilderness. As surely as the Lord lives, as you believe, you will receive what you believed.
