Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when the psalmist alluded to the fact of walking through the valley of the shadow of death. It is said that in bible times, when shepherds took their sheep through the valleys, it was often a dark place with marauders and wild animals lying in wait to steal or harm the sheep. So in the valley of the shadow of death, it was all dark, with marauders and wild animals and all, but the psalmist kept walking through it and making progress.
Friend, it may be all dark around you, but you will make progress. The situation of things in your nation may be negative and unfavourable, but you will keep making progress. There may be people waiting to pull you down but you will keep making progress. There may be people plotting your downfall but you will keep making progress. There may be people against your success but you will keep making progress. There may be haters all around you, but you will keep making progress.
Your environment may be dark but you will keep making progress. You may be surrounded by unfair circumstances, but you will keep making progress. The devil may send his arrows, haters may set their traps, but you will keep making progress. The government of the day may churn out unfavourable policies, but you will keep making progress. You may not receive the help or support you need, but you will keep making progress.
Your environment won’t determine or control your next level. Your environment won’t determine what you will become. Your rising won’t be hindered by factors around you. Your workplace will not limit your rising. You will rise no matter the darkness and marauders around you. You will rise even when it is not convenient to rise. You will rise even when the naysayers count you out. You will rise against all odds, darkness or no darkness.
God may not always remove the darkness around you, but He will teach you to move even when it is dark. Your miracle will be that you moved even in the dark.
