Our Focal Scripture reveals one of the instructions that God gave Joshua as he led his men to take over Jericho. God commanded Joshua to take the men of war and compass the city of Jericho once a day, for six days. For six days, these men marched round the city, but the walls remained standing. For six days, they obeyed God, but their results didn’t show up. So their march for six days, in obedience to God, left things the same.
Friend, when it seems that you are marching around your walls of Jericho for six days and the walls are still standing, don’t lose hope and don’t lose your faith. When your march around Jericho does not bring immediate results, keep marching. When you are doing what God said to you and it doesn’t seem to change things immediately, keep doing it. Keep walking by the counsel of the Lord; keep walking in obedience to God.
The fact that your result is yet to manifest should not discourage you from staying on the grind. The fact that your efforts are not yet yielding results should not make you to abandon ship. The fact that your consistency has not paid off should not make you have a rethink. The fact that your tenacity and verve has not paid off should not make you think you are wasting your time. That your walls of Jericho haven’t fallen shouldn’t deter you.
The men or war were to eventually walk round Jericho for seven times on the seventh day, after which they raised a shout and the walls of Jericho crumbled. After a period of efforts without result, they made more efforts in line with God’s instruction, and the walls fell down flat. Get set: your obedience and consistency will pay off, sooner than later. That which you are currently doing will soon position you for a mega harvest.
No matter what happens, never abandon the steps that God has inspired you to take. Don’t halt the movements that God inspired you to make. In due time, your march around your ‘Jericho walls’ will pay off.
