KEEP SHINING

Focus

“There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.” (1 Corinthians 15: 41)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

It is instructive to observe that the sun does not need anyone’s permission to show forth and shine. Once it is morning, the sun comes forth. The mere fact that some people would rather not have the sun come forth, will not make the sun not to come forth. The mere fact that some people are uncomfortable with the sun will not make the sun to reduce its shining. The sun does not apologize for showing up, and does not wait to be permitted to show up and manifest its glory.

Friend, in 2023, don’t apologize for showing up when you should. Don’t apologize for doing better than people around you. Don’t apologize for the growth journey you have embarked upon. Don’t apologize for raising your game and taking your performance a notch higher. You do not need anybody’s permission to rise higher and do better. You do not need anyone’s permission to break out of your current boundaries. You do not need permission to be more and do more.

Notice that there are people who ordinarily would not be pleased by the shining of the sun because of the heat they feel, but it does not stop the sun from showing up the next day. In 2023, there will be days when some people are simply offended because you showed up, but don’t let it stop you from showing up again. Don’t allow the disapproval of those who do not believe in you to stop you from marching towards your targets.

Notice also that the sun would shine today, and still shine the next day. The sun does not go on break because it was able to shine once. This year, do not allow one act of shining to make you abandon your future shining. As you shine today, be consistent enough to shine again tomorrow. As you show forth the glory of God today, do same tomorrow. As you break old limits today, break the new limits by the next day.

Today, I pray for you: may you not be numbered amongst those who failed to shine because it was not popular opinion to shine forth. Don’t wait for any man’s opinion before you show forth your potentials.

Matthew 5: 16 says: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Declare With Me: In 2023, I burn and shine regardless of the opinion of men, in Jesus’ name!
