LEARN FROM THE BEST

21st Sep 2023

Scripture Reading: JOSHUA 2: 1-24, 6: 22-24

Focus

“For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.” (Joshua 2: 10)

In our Focal Scripture, Rahab made mention of how they had heard about how the Lord dried up the Red Sea for the children of Israel as they left Egypt. She was based in Jericho, but she had information about what the Lord was doing for the children of Israel. She was in one location, but she had information about what was happening to people whom God loved. She opened herself up for information that should help her advance.

Friend, you may not yet be in the best place you want to be in, but open up yourself for information about the best of the best. Be open to learn the best practices from others. Be open to glean wisdom from the wise. Be open to personal improvement when you see those who are already ahead of you. Be open to gain capacity when you come in contact with those who have capacity. Be willing to know more than your immediate environment can offer. Be willing to learn from the best.

Rahab did not allow what was wrong in her environment to stop her from connecting to what was going on elsewhere. She saw light in Israel, and though she was yet in Jericho, she connected to the light she saw amongst the children of Israel. If God allows you to see light away from where you are, connect to the light and in a matter of time, you will be in the same light you connected to. The positive information you open up yourself to, will position you for greater days.

Rahab could have chosen to connect with information that won’t advance her destiny, but she connected to the type of information that would save her from destruction. Be intentional to connect with information and people that will move you forward. Be also intentional to stay away from places and people and information that will deform you and keep you within the zone of mediocrity and retrogression.

Remember, Rahab’s redemption began with hearing what God had done for the children of Israel. What/who are you listening to?
