It is important to observe that the person that Elisha sent to anoint a new king for Israel, was one of the sons of the prophets. A son of the prophets was a prophet in training. They were men who lived to study how to hear from God, and declare the word of the Lord. That son of the prophet showed up and ordered Jehu to arise. Jehu was a man of war, but he took commands from one of the sons of the prophets.
Jehu was a captain; he was a warrior; he was a man of strength. The strength of Jehu was only enough to make him attain the rank of captain, but it was the word of the Lord spoken through Elisha that made him king. His rank as captain was an expression of his efforts and talents, but it was the word of the Lord that pushed Him into royalty. Simply put, what the strength of Jehu could not do, the word of the Lord made it happen.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: what human strength will not do for you, the word of the Lord will make it happen for you. What your strength cannot achieve, the word of the Lord will make it possible. What your abilities cannot accomplish, the word of the Lord will bring it to your doorstep. What your connections cannot do for you, the word of the Lord in you will make it happen. God’s word will do what strength won’t do.
God’s word was announced over the life of Jehu, and that word delivered to him what his ordinary strength could not accomplish. Hear me as I hear the Lord: in this season, the word of the Lord will cause you to have results you did not labour for. The word of the Lord will usher you into heights that previously seemed unattainable; the word of the Lord will cause you to stand on the mountain of visibility and influence.
Get set: you are a candidate of results that did not come by your labour. The word of the Lord is about to make new things to happen.
