Make A Demand

19th November 2019

Scripture Reading: Matthew 14: 22-33

Focus

“And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.” (Matthew 14: 28)

When Jesus assured His disciples that He was the One walking on the sea, Peter requested to be invited to walk on water. Others were witnesses of Jesus’ exploit, but Peter wanted more, and he demanded to do the same thing that Jesus did. Peter saw a display of the power of God, and he made a demand on it. He saw a chance to be more and do more, and he made a demand. He saw what God’s power could do, and he made a demand.

Friend, it’s not enough to be a mere witness of the power of God. Make a demand on the power of God that you have seen at work. Make a demand for the power of God to power your exploits; make a demand for divine intervention; make a demand for new levels; make a demand for more greatness; make a demand for new doors to be opened to you; make a demand for high favour to be unleashed on you.

Did you notice that when Peter requested to walk on water, Jesus obliged him? Jesus did not say no to a request to carry out an exploit. God is waiting for you to make demands on Him so that He can respond. God is waiting for you to say what you want so that He can power it. God is waiting for you to make demands for what you desire to see in your family, marriage, career, business, academics, ministry, vocation, etc.

The power of God is more than enough for whatever demands you want to make; your demands won’t make life more difficult for God; your demands won’t make God to lose His throne; your demands are mere opportunities for God to express His power and glory. Make demands even if they are too big for your mind to fathom; make demands that will change the course of things in your life and your environment.

Don’t be a mere spectator when you see Jesus at work and His power displayed. Make a demand and your demand will be granted.

Declaration

I will make huge demands off the power of God, in Jesus’ name!
