Make Impact

15th July 2019

Scripture Reading: Luke 8: 22-25

Focus

“Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.” (Luke 8: 22)

In our Focal Scripture, Jesus took His disciples to the ‘other side’. During that journey, a storm arose and Jesus stilled it; Jesus’ disciples were scared, but He spoke to their faith; He also healed the man at the tomb on the other side. Jesus filled his day with impact, both on His people and on His environment. It was called a certain day, but for Jesus, it was a day of impact. Both on mere mortals and on the environment, Jesus made impact.

Friend, in this season and beyond, be a person of impact. Any man who is set on making impact does not count his days; he counts his actions. Life is not about the length of your days; it is about what you do with your days. It’s not about how long you have been on an assignment, or role, or job, or position, etc; it’s about what you have done while occupying it. It’s not about the length of your days but the value you have put therein.

Your generation is not interested in how old you are; they are interested in what you have done with the time you have spent here on earth. Your generation is seeking for men whose impact will resonate louder than their days. Your generation is seeking for men whose actions will birth the results of others. Your generation is seeking men whose time and efforts will make a difference. Your generation seeks difference makers.

If you keep counting your days, you might think you have a lot of time to achieve all that you are yet to achieve; but if you regularly take stock of the actions and steps you have committed into your time spent, then you will know if indeed you are using your time wisely and productively. Be deliberate to take stock of what you have done with your time; be deliberate to plan what you will achieve with your time going forwards.

Stop counting your days and start counting your actions and results. Remember, men of impact do not report time spent; they report actions taken and results obtained.
