Move Towards The Promise

19th October 2021

Scripture Reading: Joshua 5: 13-15, 6: 1-6

“The gates of Jericho were kept shut and guarded to keep the Israelites out. No one could enter or leave the city.” (Joshua 6: 1 GNB)

Before Joshua and his men arrived at Jericho to take possession of God’s promise to them, there were walls already erected and gates that were locked against them. God already knew that there was a wall that could stop His people, and He went ahead and made them a promise. He knew there was a limitation on their path before He promised them Jericho. God knew that there were enemies in Jericho before He gave it to Joshua.

Joshua moved closer to Jericho despite the negativity that surrounded it. He moved closer to the promise of God despite the gates that were locked against him. He moved closer to his portion though he knew that there was adversity waiting for him. He moved closer to his next level even when he knew that there were men who didn’t want him to come in. He moved in the direction of the promise of God over his life.

Friend, move in the direction of the promise of God over your life. Move towards that portion that God already promised you. Move towards that next level that God has revealed to you. Move towards the divine provisions that God has for you. Move towards those opportunities you have already prayed for. Move towards the doors and gates that God has opened for you. Move towards the direction of your promise.

There may be gates locked against you in the place of your promise, but still move towards it. There may be conspiracies surrounding your promise, but still move towards it. There may be people who have vowed that you will not live to see your next level, but don’t let them stop you from coming close. There may be policies that want to deny you of your wealthy place, but dare to go closer. Go closer to your promise no matter the gates.

Remember, Joshua came close to his promise, and God sent him an angel to help make his promise a reality. Go closer to your promise and God will send you the help you need to possess your possession.

I move towards my promise, no matter the gates that are locked against me, in Jesus’ name!
