Scripture Reading: 1 Kings 18: 40-46

Focus

“44. And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. 45. And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.” (1 Kings 18: 44-45)

In our Focal Scripture, Elijah told his servant to warn Ahab to prepare his chariot and move before the rain stops him. That rain was an answer to the prayer of Elijah; it was the desire of the entire nation of Israel, it was a blessing that was to trigger fruitfulness in Israel, but it also had the capacity to stop Ahab if he didn’t move. It was a blessing that made a call for a change of location. It was a blessing that demanded a location shift.

Friend, your blessing is calling for a location shift. Your blessing is calling you to make strategic movements; your blessing is calling you to leave where you are and move to where you need to be; your blessing demands that you do things differently; your blessing demands a positional realignment; your blessing is calling for movement and growth in the right direction; your blessing is calling for more diligence, consistency, etc.

Jezreel was the city where kings of Israel resided after the break up of Israel and Judah. So it was the place of Ahab’s assignment and responsibility, and he needed to start going there because there was a blessing on the way, which could stop him. As your blessings arrive, get closer to the place of your assignment and responsibilities towards God and towards men, otherwise, the same blessings might stop you.

Your great rain is not an excuse to abandon the throne where God has brought you to sit and preside over the affairs of men under your care. Your great rain of blessings is not meant to be a distraction from your assignments and responsibilities; your blessing is not a permission to forget why God made you king; your blessing is not a permission to play in the rain whilst forgetting the throne that needs your attention.

No matter what happens, never allow the blessings of God upon your life to stop you or become a distraction from the ultimate goal.
