In our Focal Scripture, God told Samuel to fill his horn with oil and proceed to Bethlehem where He had provided Himself a king from amongst the sons of Jesse. Samuel was to fill his horn with oil, but he also had to journey to Bethlehem. The oil was not all that was needed for a new king to emerge; he also needed to embark on a journey. Samuel needed to move with the oil before David could become king. It was not enough that the horn was filled; he needed to move with it.
Friend, you may already have the oil; you may already have heaven’s deposit in you; you may already have divine empowerment; you may already have the wisdom and knowledge that your generation needs; you may already have the prophecies and promises of God in your favour; you may already have the depth of the Spirit within you; you may already have supernatural deposits in you; you may have your horn already filled with more than enough oil, but God says, move with your oil.
Add movement to your divine capacity. Add efforts to the oil you carry. Let the oil of God on your life find expression as you move to where it is needed. Let your oil translate to impact. Let the divine deposits in you be an occasion for another man’s rising. Let what God put in you, trigger other men to become who God wants them to be. Let the supply of heaven on your life be a harbinger of greatness for other men. Let your oil make a journey. Advance with your oil.
The oil in the horn that Samuel had, was for an assignment, and that assignment needed Samuel to move. Your oil is for an assignment, but if you fail to journey with it, you may never arrive at the destination that heaven would want you to arrive at. If you fail to make movements and advance with the oil on your life, you may never make any impact on your generation. If you fail to move with your oil, your David won’t rise.
Don’t be counted amongst them that have oil but are unwilling to move and advance. Take up your oil, and start moving. Don’t be lazy with your oil.
