Don’t Go Down

Needless Battles

8th May 2022

Scripture Reading: Mark 5: 1-20

Focus

“And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,” (Mark 5: 2)

In our Focal Scripture, Jesus was met by a man who was afflicted by an unclean spirit. Jesus would later cause the man to be delivered from the power of darkness, and that man would eventually preach to ten different cities about Jesus. Notice that a storm arose before Jesus arrived at the Gadarenes. A storm arose before the man’s miracle happened. It appeared that the storm came to stop a great thing that Jesus wanted to do.

Friend, are you at that point where the storms are raging badly against your ship? Get ready: that storm arose because something great is set to come your way. The battles you face at the moment only arose because the enemy has an idea of the greatness that God is set to unleash through your life. That roadblock that wants to stop you only showed up because your destination is better than where you are at the moment.

The devil will probably not fight you ferociously if your future was not a threat to him. The enemy would probably not be in a hurry to stop you if what was ahead was not better and greater than whatever you are currently faced with. The conspiracies and gatherings against you would probably not be necessary if you were not set for higher realms and greater results. The battles are indicative of the great thing that God is set to do.

Did you realize that the enemy was not able to stop Jesus from crossing over to the other side where He healed the man with an unclean spirit? Despite the attacks of the enemy, God’s plan for that man with an unclean spirit was fulfilled. Hear me as I hear the Lord: no matter how hard the enemy battles against you, the will of the Lord concerning you will be fulfilled, nothing missing and nothing broken.

Don’t let the battles of life confuse or defeat you. They only came because greater is coming.

Declaration

My battles will not stop me; greater is coming, in Jesus’ name!
