NEGATIVE PROPHECY

27th December 2023

Scripture Reading: MATTHEW 2: 1-20

Focus

“17. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, 18. In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.” (Matthew 2: 17-18)

When Herod ordered a massacre of children who were two years and below, it was a fulfillment of the prophecy of Jeremiah who had prophesied of mourning and weeping that would happen. Jeremiah gave a prophecy about how people will weep and mourn, and a certain set of parents became the fulfillment of the prophecy. Disaster was foretold, and it became the reality of some parents. A negative prophecy became their reality.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not fulfill negative prophecies. You will not be an example of one who suffered a disaster that was foretold. You will not be an example of those who experienced negativity. You will not be an example of those whose lives turned upside down as a result of negativities that were foretold. You will not be swallowed by negative experiences. You will not be a partaker of future negativity.

People who had no idea of the timing of Jesus’ birth and the accompanying prophecies, suddenly found themselves losing their children because Herod was trying to get at one child. They became victims of what was not even clear to them. I pray for you: you will not be a victim of what is not clear to you. You will not fulfill negative prophecies that you are not even aware of. You will not end up in the traps that were meant for a season.

Today, I decree, you will fulfill positive prophecies. When the story of those that God mightily favoured will be told, your name will be mentioned. When the tales of victories and major breakthroughs are told, your name will be mentioned. When the tales of last minute celebrations and congratulations are told, your name will be mentioned. You will be a partaker of positive prophecies whenever God chooses to fulfill them.

No longer will it be said that you fulfilled negative prophecies. As surely as the Lord lives, you will fulfill positive prophecies.

Declaration

I will not be a fulfilment of negative prophecies; no foretold disaster will come my way, in Jesus’ name!
