It is instructive to know that Saul already knew that God had proclaimed David as the next king of Israel. Saul knew about the word of the Lord concerning David’s kingship, but he wanted to kill David so that David will not reign as king. He plotted David’s death so that David would not be alive to become what God already said he would become. He plotted to kill David so that his word of prophecy will remain unfulfilled.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: any man who has seen your tomorrow but has vowed that you will not be alive to step into it, let the hand of the Lord come against that man. I pray the Lord to come against the wicked men that want to cut short your life before you arrive at your throne. I pray the Lord to come against every merchant of death that wants to trade in your head to the Herods of this world. I pray the Lord to come against the men who say you will not be alive to reign.
Saul plotted to kill David, but it was he who died before David. Hear me as I hear the Lord: every evil man that has stretched forth his hands against you to stop your emergence, let the same angel that slapped Herod to death send that man down the drains. Let the angels of the Lord be unleashed against the men who have sworn that they will not live to see you rise and reign. Let the angels of God crush the merchants of death against you.
Saul would later throw a javelin against David, to pin David to the wall, but he did not succeed. He plotted death against David, he stretched forth his hands to kill David, but he never succeeded. Today, I pray for you: your life will not be cut short before your emergence. You will not be counted amongst them that came close to their throne but were not alive to sit on it and reign. You will not be counted amongst the slain men.
You will not die but live to declare the works of the Lord in the land of the living. Your life will not be cut short ahead of your rising and enthronement.
