Scripture Reading: PSALMS 23: 1-6

Focus

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23: 1)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when the psalmist proclaimed that the Lord is his shepherd, and that he shall not want. The word ‘want’ as used in that scripture, comes from the Hebrew word that is phonetically spelt as ‘khaw-sare’. Another connotation of ‘khaw-sare’, is ‘lowered standard’. So the psalmist was simply saying that because the Lord is his shepherd, his standard will not be lowered.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: in 2023 and beyond, I decree that your standard will not be lowered. The standard of your life will not be lowered. The standard of your family will not be lowered. The standard of your finances will not be lowered. The standard of your living shall not be lowered. The standard of your results will not be lowered. The standard of your greatness and influence will not be lowered.

Notice that the mission of the enemy is to steal, kill and destroy (see John 10 vs. 10). The mission of the enemy is to lower every standard around you that the Lord has put in place. Today I decree, by the hand of the Lord, every plot to reduce your standards, is reversed. You will not move from the front to the back. You will not move from influence to irrelevance. You will not move from visibility to obscurity.

Today, I pray for you: may the Lord increase the standard of your life. May the Lord cause you to become more than you ever used to be. May the Lord cause your standards to increase. May the standard of helpers that usually come your way increase. May the standard of the opportunities that come your way increase. May the standard the Lord instituted in your life rise even higher. May the standard of your living climb even high.

Welcome to that season where the standards of your life will increase again and again. Welcome to that season where your destiny will receive an upgrade.
