NO DESTINY ABORTION

2nd December 2023

Scripture Reading: MATTHEW 2: 1-20

Focus

“Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,” (Matthew 2: 1)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of how Jesus was born in the days of Herod. Herod was that wicked king who heard that there was a new born king, and he proceeded to kill every young child in Bethlehem who was two years and below. Herod was that wicked king who saw the birth of Jesus as the emergence of a rival whom he must destroy. Notice that despite the antics and wickedness of Herod, the plan of God for Jesus was not aborted.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: no matter what the Herod’s of this world do, they cannot abort the will of God for your life. The Herod’s of this world cannot cut short your destiny ahead of time. The Herod’s of this world cannot turn off the light of your life with their wickedness. The Herod’s of this world cannot scuttle the plan of God concerning you. The Herod’s of this world cannot cause your destiny to end before it has started.

It would have been safer to be born under a favourable king, but despite being born under Herod, Jesus went on to fulfill His destiny. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you may be caught in the environment of an unfavourable Herod, but as surely as the Lord lives, you will fulfill destiny, and no part of the plan of God for you will be cut short. No part of your future will be rendered desolate. No part of your tomorrow will be swallowed.

Herod was that evil environment under which Jesus was born, but eventually, Jesus outlived Herod. The same system that was meant to swallow Jesus, was outlived by Jesus Himself. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you will outlive the Herod’s of this world. You will outlive the protocols of darkness. You will outlive the processes of wickedness. You will outlive the structures of hell positioned against you and your future.

Don’t lose sleep because of the Herod’s of this world. If God be for you, no Herod will truncate your destiny.
