Scripture Reading: MARK 10: 46-52

“And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.” (Mark 10: 46)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of Blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus. The word Timaeus comes from the Greek word ‘Timaios’, which means ‘honour’. So Bartimaeus was a son of ‘Honour’, but his situation was not honorable. He was a son of honour, but negativity was louder than the honour he should exude. Negativity swallowed the positive identity he was born with. What he suffered soon became the identity he was known with.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: in 2024, negativity will not swallow your positive identity. No negativity will be louder than what God is doing in your life. Negativity will not consume your resources. Negativity will not prevail over your efforts. Negativity will not swallow your results. Negativity will not cause you to go under. No negativity and no power of hell will demote you from the place of honour.

I pray for you: you will not bear the identity of sickness and disease. You will not bear the identity of the arrows that the enemy shot at you. You will not bear the identity of destiny reduction. You will not bear the identity of losses. You will not bear the identity of the expectations of the wicked against you. You will not bear the identity of stagnation and retrogression. You will not be identified by the works of the enemy against you.

Jesus did not redeem you so that negativity can give you an identity that is inconsistent with the plan and purpose of God for you. You may go through negative situations, but refuse to have them swallow your true identity in Christ. You may face challenges, but don’t let the enemy call you by the name of your challenge. Fiercely refuse every attempt of the enemy to give you an identity that is not of God. Resist any negative identity.

The same way Jesus healed Bartimaeus and took away the identity of blindness from his life, I decree, every negative identity you have lived with, is broken.

In 2024, my identity/greatness will not be swallowed by negativity, in Jesus’ name!
