Not By Subtraction

17th April 2021

Scripture Reading: Luke 19: 12-27

Focus

“But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.” (Luke 19: 14)

Our Focal Scripture makes mention of the enemies of the noble man who vowed that he will not reign over them. They called him ‘this man’. They saw a man who was a noble man, they saw a man whose personality was noble, but they referred to him as ‘this man’. They tried to subtract his nobility from his personality. They tried to make him look less than he truly was. They tried to reduce him with their words.

Notice that despite the spite of those haters, the noble man still went and gained new territories and came back on a higher level. Despite what men tried to subtract from him, his increase was not reversed, and his greatness was not diminished. Despite the hatred of his haters, his destiny was not reduced. The fact that they disrespectfully called him ‘this man’ did not stop him from being the noble man that he already was.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: regardless of what may have been subtracted from your personality, you will come back on a higher level. The hatred of your haters will not reduce your destiny. The conspiracy of the wicked against you will not diminish your greatness. The deliberate attempt of men to reduce you with their words will not reduce your destiny to rubbles. The venom of the enemy against you will not poison your destiny.

Hear me as I hear the Lord: despite the subtraction, you will reach your destination. Despite what men may have taken away from you, your gates shall remain open. Despite the support, clients, opportunities, validation, etc that have been subtracted from you, you will still hit your targets and reach your milestones. Despite what the economy and the pandemic may have subtracted from you, you will not be diminished.

Men can hold on to their subtraction from you while you hold on to your advancement against all odds. Despite what has been subtracted, you won’t go down.

Declaration
