Scripture Reading: 2 Kings 6: 8-23

Focus

“Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.” (2 Kings 6: 8)

In our Focal Scripture, the king of Syria warred against Israel. The word ‘warred’ as used in that scripture comes from the Hebrew word ‘lacham’. Another meaning of ‘lacham’ is ‘to eat’, or ‘to use as food’. So the king of Syria made arrangements to use the children of Israel as food. The king of Syria thought to consume the children of Israel as food. He wanted to be fed through the battle that Israel was about to fight.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: every attempt of the enemy to feast on you, I decree, it will not stand. Your battles will not give food to the enemy. Your struggles will not make the enemy famous. The enemy will not feed on your career, finances, health, children, marriage, ministry, academics, etc. The enemy will not devour your life. No messenger of hell will drink your blood or eat your flesh. You will not be meat for the devil.

Get set: you will not fight battles that will diminish you. You will not be cut up in challenges that will make a mess of your destiny. You will not be caught in any challenge that will make your enemies smile and dance with joy. You will not be a source of joy and celebration for the kingdom of darkness. You will not be counted amongst them that the enemy feasted on. You will not be counted amongst them that the enemy ate.

If Jesus has redeemed you by His blood, then you belong to the generation that cannot be meat for the enemy. Jesus did not redeem you so that the enemy can make a mess of your destiny. Jesus did not redeem you so that your life can move from bad to worse. Jesus did not redeem you so that you will be vulnerable to the dictates of the gates of hell. Jesus did not redeem you so that you can be a victim of the ‘King of Syria’.

The days of being a victim, are over. The season of being subject to the kingdom of darkness, is over. You will be safe and sound for all times. You will prevail over the enemies of your destiny.
