Scripture Reading: 2 Kings 9: 1-13

Focus

“And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;” (2 Kings 9: 2)

Elisha instructed the son of the prophets to go all the way to Ramoth Gilead and anoint Jehu. That son of the prophets was instructed to make Jehu arise from among his brethren. Jehu would eventually be anointed in the inner chamber, where the eyes of his fellow captains could not see. He was anointed in the inner chamber, alone with the son of the prophet, but first, he needed to arise from amongst his fellows.

Friend, the crown that heaven ordained for you may never become your reality until you arise from amongst your ‘brethren’ and enter into the inner chamber. You might need to excuse yourself from certain circles in order to press in and get more of God. You might need to walk away from some ‘brethren’ so that you can become more in God. You might need to walk away from some internal multitudes so that you can receive the oil of coronation that heaven designed for you.

Jehu stepped out of the place of commonality with his fellow captains before the oil of kingship came upon him. He walked away from the place of being like everyone else so that he could become what God wanted him to become. Sometimes, the journey of becoming what God wants you to become begins with refusing to be like everyone around you. Sometimes, your greatness begins when you intentionally choose to be different.

Jehu entered the inner chamber, and the oil came upon him. When you enter the inner chamber of intimacy with God, kingship is inevitable. When you enter the inner chamber in your walk with God, your mountains begin to drop sweet wine. When you enter the inner chamber of your walk with God, He makes you who He has always wanted you to be. When you get in with God, He makes you more than you have ever been.

Remember, the oil was not poured on Jehu in the open; it was poured in the inner chamber. Press into the inner chamber and you will embrace the kingship that God ordained for you.

Declaration

I leave the outer court; I step into the inner chamber; I am made more by God, in Jesus’ name!
