Don’t Walk Away

Profitable Choices

16th April 2021

Scripture Reading: Luke 19: 12-27

Focus

“And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.” (Luke 19: 13)

The noble man in our Scripture Reading gave pounds to his servants and told them to occupy until he returns. The word ‘occupy’ as used in that scripture comes from the Greek word ‘pragmateuomai’, which connotes ‘to engage in exchange that leads to profit’. So those servants needed to deliberately engage in exchanges that will lead, not to losses, but to increase. Profits did not just appear; they made exchanges that will yield profit.

Friend, as you run your race in life, be intentional to engage in exchange that will yield profit. Make deliberate choices that will help you to advance. Choose relationships that will increase you and not reduce you. Choose engagements that will advance you and not demote you. Choose an inner circle that will be productive and not counterproductive. Make choices that will make your tomorrow better. Make profitable choices.

Amongst the servants, there was one who did nothing with the pound he received, and when the Master returned to see the profit of others, he was empty handed. Others invested in profits, but he invested in stagnation. Make sure that whatever you are currently doing will not pave the way for your destiny to be stagnated. Make sure that whatever you are doing with your today will not return to hurt your tomorrow.

Between the departure and return of the noble man, was time. So how the servants spent their time determined how their results would turn out. What they did with their time determined their future. Look inwards today: the way you are currently spending your time, is it likely to birth the future of your dreams? The way you are using the resources, relationships, access, opportunities, etc at your disposal, will they advance or reduce you?

Receive the wisdom for positive choices that will usher in your profit. Receive the wisdom to follow pathways that will push you forward.

Declaration

I have wisdom for profits; I will not waste my today and spoil my tomorrow, in Jesus’ name!
