Set Free On Purpose

19th September 2020

Scripture Reading: Mark 11: 1-11

“And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.” (Mark 11: 2)

In our Focal Scripture, Jesus ordered His two disciples to loose the colt and bring same to Him. That colt had been tied, without any mission to accomplish; and when Jesus got involved, He ordered that the colt be freed immediately, and directed to where He was. So that colt suddenly regained its freedom, but it was sent to the pathway of the Lord. It gained freedom, and it followed the direction that the Lord would have it follow.

Friend, God may have granted you freedom from certain challenges and bondages, but He is also expecting you to walk in a path that He predetermined. God did not set you free from bondage so that you can be free to live your life as you want. God did not set you free so that you can walk away from Him. God did not set you free so that you can break your consecration and dedication to Him. God did not set you free to go and become a disaster.

Jesus rescued the colt, because there was a divine purpose for the colt to immediately walk into and fulfill. The setting free of the colt coincided with a divine purpose that Jesus Himself was involved in. Christ set you free in order to have you fulfill His divine purpose for your life. He set you free in order to give your life a direction. He set you free in order to make your life meaningful. He set you free in order to make you useful to Himself.

Discover the plan of God that is tied to whatever freedom you have attained, and make a commitment to walk in it. Make a commitment to walk in the path of God’s purpose for your life. Make a commitment to follow the direction that God has set out for your life. Make a commitment not to waste the freedom that God granted you. Make a commitment to use your freedom as a means to accomplish God’s plan for your life.

Remember, the colt was set free and immediately ushered into a pathway that led to relevance. Walk in the path that God ordained for you. Don’t let your freedom become an occasion to walk away from God.

I walk in the path of divine purpose; my freedom will not take me away from Jesus, in Jesus’ name!
