“There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.” (1 Corinthians 15: 41)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
One of the important functions of the sun is that it gives light to the moon. The moon gets its light from the sun. It merely reflects the light that the sun shines on it. So when the moon appears to give off light, it is only giving forth the light it has received from the sun. It shines because the sun’s shining helps it to shine. So the sun does not shine alone for itself; it also makes the moon to shine as though it has its own light.
Friend, as you shine like the sun, be intentional to let people around you get light from you. Allow the ‘moons’ around you to get light from you. Allow people around you to rise through you. Allow your light to give others light. As God causes your ministry to shine brightly, allow others to gain light and relevance through you. As God causes light to beam on your finances, let people connected to you become beneficiaries.
Notice that the sun shines by itself in the day, but the light it gives to the moon causes the moon to give light at night. If you allow the light that God has lit in you to shine through others, they will provide light at times when you are not available to provide light. The people who eventually grow under you will have capacity to do things you may not be available to do at times. The people God raises under you will shine on your behalf.
Don’t be numbered amongst men whose light must never give others light. Don’t be numbered amongst men who want to shine alone and not help others shine. Don’t be numbered amongst men whose resources are never available to lift others up. Don’t be numbered amongst men who shine for themselves alone. Don’t be a light that will not reflect on others. Don’t be a great man whose greatness cannot be replicated in others.
If you will shine like the sun, then be willing to allow lesser lights gain their own light through you. If you will operate as a burning and shining light, then be ready to have people take light from you.
Isaiah 60: 3 says: “And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.”
Declare With Me: I arise as the greater light; my light will give light to my generation, in Jesus’ name!
