When God created the sun, moon and stars, he “…set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth” (Genesis 1 vs. 17). The word ‘set’ as used in that scripture means to position. So God positioned the sun, moon and stars in the firmament of the heaven. He gave them a position from which they could give light upon the earth. He gave them a position they needed to remain in, in order to give light. Their ability to give light upon the earth needed them to remain in their position.
Friend, glean some wisdom from the sun, moon and stars: stay in your place. Stay in that place where God has planted you. Stay in that lane where heaven has empowered you to run your race. Stay in the environment of your greatness. Stay in that position that guarantees your relevance to your generation. Stay in that place where your potentials and potentialities are being maximized. Stay in that firmament from where your light shines for all to see. Stay in your place.
God created other beings that are literally mobile: He created birds that could fly in the air as they wish; He created human beings that could change location at will; but for the sun, moon and stars, He set them where they would manifest their relevance. Dear man on assignment, sometimes, God may set you in that place where you are unable to be like everyone and move like everyone. Sometimes, God literally bars you from moving as you wish. Your placement in the firmament is for a purpose.
There is a relevance that the sun, moon and stars have which other creations do not have, but it comes at a cost: they have to stay in their place. This year and beyond, there is a higher level of relevance that God Himself has destined for you, but it will come at a cost of being where He has positioned you. You have been set apart to bring light to your generation. You have been set apart to shine and fulfill the purpose of heaven.
Don’t be counted amongst them that were too distracted to remain where God positioned them as burning and shining lights. Let your eyes be opened to see where God has positioned you, and receive the courage and wisdom to stay where He placed you.
