Scripture Reading: PSALMS 23: 1-6

Focus

“He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.” (Psalm 23: 3)

In our Focal Scripture, the psalmist made mention of how the Lord leads him in the paths of righteousness. The word ‘righteousness’ comes from the root word ‘right’. The psalmist did not say that the Lord takes him to the paths of righteousness. He said that the Lord leads him in the paths of righteousness. So even when he was right, the Lord was still leading him. Even when he was not confused, the Lord was still leading him.

Friend, even when you are right, allow the Lord to still lead you. Even when you are not confused, allow the Lord to lead you. Even when your path is clear and your waters still, allow the Lord to still lead. Even when your numbers add up and things are working according to plan, allow the Lord to still lead you. Even if everything is working in your favour, let the Lord still lead you. Even if there are no challenges, let the Lord still lead you.

Let God lead you when your results are coming in droves. Let God lead you even when your doors and gates are already open. Let God continue to lead you even when your deepest prayers have been answered. Let God continue to lead you in the days when everything aligns in your favour. Let God lead you even when you have arrived at your high places. Let God continue to lead you even when kings have come to your rising.

Don’t fall into the temptation of thinking that you need God less because there is no trouble on your path. Never imagine that you are better off without God simply because the ‘need’ for God has not quite arisen. Never imagine that your prayer life can go on leave simply because your other prayers have been answered. Never imagine that your need for divine intervention has ended because God already intervened in your last need.

Don’t be counted amongst them that stopped being led by God because the paths were right. No matter how wise you are, and no matter how right things are for you, let God still lead you.

Declaration

No matter how right things are with me, God will still lead me, in Jesus’ name!
