Stop The Negativity

3rd December 2019

Scripture Reading: Ruth 1: 1-17

Focus

“Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.” (Ruth 1: 1)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of the famine that happened in the days when the judges ruled. The scripture did not say it happened during the reign of one judge; it happened during the days when judges ruled. So one judge showed up, met the famine, and then handed over the famine to the next judge that ruled. Negativity was handed over from one judge to another; one judge after another handed over dryness to the next judge.

Friend, if there be any dryness in any part of your life, now is the time to end it. End the dryness in your relationship with God; end the dryness in your prayer life; end the dryness in your family; break the cycle of negativity in your generation; break the chains of evil that were handed over to you; break the chain of stagnation, obscurity, mediocrity, failure, demonic oppression, etc. Defeat every negativity that comes your way.

Different judges met the famine, they saw negativity, and they let the next judge inherit the same. So new judges inherited negativity and they passed it on. You may have inherited negativity, but don’t pass it on. You may have grown up seeing negative patterns in your family, but it’s your job to make sure that those patterns end in your lifetime; that you inherited negativity does not mean that someone else should inherit the same.

If you have been redeemed by Jesus, then you belong to the generation that does not retain the negativity that was received or inherited. If Jesus has redeemed you, then it’s your job to defeat whatever negativity you inherited. Put an end to every negative cycle that existed before you showed up; put an end to the dryness that wants to envelop your destiny and those connected to you. Defeat that negativity.

Don’t be counted among those who saw negativity and were comfortable to pass it on. Stop the flow of negativity in your life and around you.
