Strategic Efforts

9th May 2019

Scripture Reading: Esther 6: 1-14

Focus

“And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.”
(Esther 6: 3)

In our Focal Scripture, the king asked for what honour and dignity that had been done to Mordecai for exposing the king’s enemies. He didn’t speak of Mordecai’s several duties as a gatekeeper; he spoke of a singular act (of exposing the enemies). So despite having been a gatekeeper, Mordecai made one strategic effort, and the king rolled out the red carpet in his honour. One strategic effort ushered Mordecai into royalty.

Friend, I pray for you: may the Lord make your efforts strategic. May the Lord make the efforts of your family strategic; may the Lord cause your efforts in your career to be strategic; may the Lord cause your efforts in your ministry to be strategic; may the Lord cause your efforts in your business to be strategic; may the Lord give you opportunities to make strategic efforts that will lift you higher and position you strategically.

Mordecai really did not do much, but the little he did mattered much. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the little you do will matter much to the kings of this world; the little you do will cause men to lift you higher; the little you do will be your passcode into a new realm of relevance and influence; the little you do will be so strategic that will take you out of your current level and position you on a higher level of honour and influence.

Sometimes, great men may not have done much; they just might have done the little that mattered to people who matter. Sometimes, higher levels become the portion of those who simply did what was needed when it was needed. I pray for you: may you find opportunities to do what is needed when it will be needful; may you find opportunities to do what will distinguish you among men.

Ask the Lord to open your eyes to see that strategic effort that holds the key to your relevance; ask God to position you strategically to make a strategic move that will yield mega results.
