The Plots Will Fail

5th May 2019

Scripture Reading: Esther 6: 1-14

“And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.”
(Esther 6: 2)

Bigthana and Teresh were the king’s men, but they plotted against the king. They made arrangements to stop the king in his tracks. They made plans to deal with the king by laying hands on him. Their plan was to cut short the life of the king. Their plan was to end the kingship of King Ahasuerus, but in a matter of time, their plans were exposed. They conspired, but their conspiracy did not stand the test of time.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: every conspiracy against you will scatter in a matter of time; if there be men who have gathered against you in secret, seeking to pull you down, God will expose and disgrace them; if there be any who has dug a grave to cause an end to your life, that grave they dug for you will swallow them; the wickedness of those who are against you will backfire on them; no matter the plans, they will fall.

Bigthana and Teresh were wicked men operating from close quarters, they would have done their best to keep their plans under lock and key, yet they were exposed. As they plot against you, God will expose them.  As they hide under the cover of friendship to do you harm, God will make a mess of their evil plans; as they conspire to put you out of circulation, God will shock them by letting you escape their wicked plans.

Ahasuerus was not necessarily a child of the covenant that Israel had with God, but God didn’t let the wishes of his enemies prevail. If God would spare a pagan king, then He would keep you safe from the plots of the evil men around your destiny. God will keep you safe no matter how close your plotters are; God will keep you safe no matter how high tech their evil plans are.

You serve a God who sees both in the open and in the secret. The same God who caused the evil plots of Teresh and Bigthana to fail will cause every evil plot against you to fail.

Every evil plot against me will fail, in Jesus’ name!
