In our Focal Scripture, after making mention of how the Shepherd makes him to lie down in green pastures, the psalmist went on to speak of how the same Shepherd leads him beside still waters. So the same sheep that wants to lie down in green pastures, has to arise and be led beside still waters. The sheep that wants to relax in the pasture, has to arise because there are ‘still waters’ ahead. The sheep cannot end in the pasture, because while it rests in the pasture, the ‘still waters’ beckon.
Friend, you may be currently relaxing in your ‘green pastures’, but God has asked me to announce to you that there are ‘still waters’ ahead of you. There are more divine provisions ahead of the one you are currently celebrating. There are more doors that heaven wants to open to you after the one that is currently open. There are more achievements waiting beyond the current achievement you are celebrating. There is more.
Don’t be counted amongst the sheep that dwell on the green pastures and forget to be led beside still waters. Don’t be counted amongst sheep that cannot see beyond what is currently happening. Don’t be counted amongst sheep that would literally settle for the available and forget that there is more ahead. Don’t settle for the much you have seen God do; don’t settle for the feats of yesterday; don’t settle for less when there is more.
If God has become your Shepherd, then expect still waters after your green pastures. If God has become your Shepherd, expect more testimonies after the current testimony you are celebrating; expect more doors and gates to open; expect more congratulations; expect more helpers to come your way; expect more giant strides to come your way; expect more back to back good news to locate you; expect more and be set for more.
That green pasture is not the end of what the Shepherd can lead you to. As you celebrate your green pastures, do well to move ahead for your still waters.
