When David found himself in the midst of men who spoke of stoning him, he encouraged himself in the Lord his God. David found himself in the midst of losses, albeit temporarily. He found himself in a situation where the men around him had turned against him, and he encouraged himself in the Lord. He had no one to turn to, and he quite naturally turned to God. He came to a point where men had given up, and he turned to God.
Friend, there will be times when situations and circumstances would turn against you, and you just might realize that your only option is to turn to God. It may sound like a simple recipe, but when you find yourself in that place where things are not going your way, turn to God. When people and realities are not aligning in your favour, turn to God. When circumstances you did not bargain for come against you, turn to God.
As the battles of life rage against you, be intentional to turn to God. As conspiracies mount up against you, be intentional to turn to God. As you are tossed between your high expectations and unfavourable realities, turn to God. As you find yourself in the midst of foes, turn to God. As you find yourself in the midst of the battles of life, turn to God. Don’t allow the enormity of battles to make you forget to turn to God.
David turned to God with his issues; he turned to God with the circumstance that was against him; he turned to God with the issue that came against him which he didn’t bargain for, and in a matter of time, he recovered all that he lost. He turned to God, and a solution that seemed beyond his reach suddenly came within his reach. As you turn to God, the same solutions that seemed distant will come within your reach.
Don’t allow the circumstances you face make you see God as an option for later, rather than sooner. Even when your heart is overwhelmed, turn to Jesus.
