Unlikely Sources

16th April 2020

Scripture Reading: Mark 16: 1-20

Focus

“3. And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? 4. And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.” (Mark 16: 3-4)

Our Focal Scripture reveals that the three women who bought spices to go and anoint Jesus’ body were worried about who will roll away the stone from the door of the sepulcher. They were worried about the person that will help them to take the stone away. They had worries about what they could not do for themselves, but they somehow needed a human being to do it for them. They were looking unto man to do a thing for them.

Notice that when they got to the sepulcher, the stone had been rolled away, but not by man. They got to the grave, and saw that a solution had arisen from a source they least expected. Help came to them, from a source they did not count on. Help came to them from unfamiliar quarters. Help came to them from an unlikely source; help came to them from unexpected quarters.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: help shall arise to you from unexpected quarters. Help shall come to you from unlikely places; help shall come to you in ways you never bargained for; help shall come to you in ways you never imagined that help could arise; help will arise to you from doors you never knew that will open to you; help will arise to you from people and places you least imagined; help shall arise from unexpected sources.

Those women were expecting the stone to be rolled away by their fellow mortal. They expected an answer to arise from certain quarters, but help came from where they didn’t expect. Get set to receive the unusual from unusual sources; get set to receive recognition from places you least expected; get set for patronage, relevance, increase, open doors, etc that will come to you from places you never knew they could come from.

Look beyond the places you are familiar with and expect help that will arise from unlikely places. Expect help to come to you from unexpected sources.

Declaration
