It is instructive that the women in our Focal Scripture both ran into troubled waters while they slept. One woman overlaid her child as she slept, and her child died. The other woman was fast asleep when her own living child was taken and replaced with the dead child of the other woman. Sleep was the common denominator that created the chaos that they both brought to the king. Sleep made a huge mess of their new season.
Friend, when God brings you into your new season, don’t sleep off and don’t slumber. Your new season is not an invitation to down tools and go on break. Your new season is not an indication to stop praying as you used to do before. Your new season is not an occasion to lose focus and slip into slumber. Your new season is not an occasion to reduce your commitment and dedication. Your new season is not a call to relax.
Women who had just received the fruit of the womb, decided to get so carried away with sleep, and in the process, one person overlaid and suffocated her own child whilst sleeping, and only woke up to take the living child of the other woman who was asleep. They were not awake as disaster happened to them. I pray for you: may you not wake up to disaster. May you be sensitive when the enemy is packaging disaster to come your way.
Wake up, and arise from your slumber. Arise from every spiritual blindness. Arise from every weakness that has got in the way of your new season. Arise from every reduction in your focus, dedication, prayers, competence, commitment, alertness, sensitivity, etc. Arise from the place of your laziness in the realm of the spirit. Arise from the place of laxity, sloppiness and lukewarmness that is making you ignorant of the devices of the enemy.
Remember, your new season is a call to do more, not a call to do less and be less. Arise, shake off the sleep and slumber, shake off every dereliction, shake off every spiritual ignorance and negligence, and rise to the occasion of your new season.
