In our Focal Scripture, Goliath threatened to give David’s flesh to the fowls of the air and the beasts of the field. On the day that God made man, He blessed man and commanded man to have dominion over the birds of the air and beasts of the field (see Genesis 1). God gave man dominion over the same things that Goliath wanted to feed David’s flesh to. So Goliath wanted to reverse the dominion mandate. Goliath wanted what David should rule over, to turn around and prevail over David.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: the dominion mandate will not be reversed in your life. What you are supposed to dominate will not turn around and have dominion over you. What you are supposed to prevail over will not turn around and prevail over you; what you are supposed to defeat will not turn around and defeat you; what you are supposed to rule over will not rule over you; what you are meant to subdue will not subdue you.
Hear me as I hear the Lord: the circumstances of the day will not prevail over you; the challenges of the day will not prevail over you; the health issues of your generation will not prevail over you; the powers of hell will not prevail over you; the gates of hell will not prevail over you; the conspiracies against you will not prevail over you; the things that should be under your feet will not stand over your head. Nothing will prevail over you.
If you have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, then you belong to the generation of them that cannot be subdued by the power of darkness. If Jesus has redeemed you, you cannot and should not be dominated by the same things He redeemed you from. If Jesus has set you free, you have no business getting entangled or subdued again by any yoke of bondage.
God has empowered you to reign and rule. You prevail over your environment; you prevail over the forces of darkness; you prevail over the birds of the air and beasts of the field; you walk in dominion.
