Walk In Faith

31st July 2019

Scripture Reading: Luke 8: 22-25

Focus

“And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.” (Luke 8: 25)

After Jesus stilled the storm that wanted to sink the ship in which He and His disciples sailed, He turned to them and asked them where their faith was. So Jesus expected His disciples to show some faith when the storm arose; He expected them to act like people who had a God they believed in; He expected them to act like people who knew that God would not let them sink; He expected faith from them, but alas, they showed none.

Friend, no matter the storms you face, don’t lose your faith. No matter the challenges that come your way, don’t waver in your confidence in God; no matter the troubles that surround you, don’t allow the devil to lie to you and make you believe that he would have the final say; no matter the battles you face and the challenges you grapple with, don’t allow the devil to make you believe that the storm has already overpowered you.

No matter the challenge or storm, let your faith remain alive. Remind yourself that you serve a God who can deal with the storms you are currently facing; remind yourself that like Jesus, you have the power to command the storm and it would stand still; no matter the fierceness of the storm, remind yourself that God will neither leave you nor forsake you; remain strong in your faith no matter how much the challenges of life are.

Jesus eventually stilled the storm that His disciples were scared of, so there was really no need for them to be in fear or lose their faith. Guess what? You have no need for fear, because the subject of your fear will definitely be taken care of by God. You have no need to lose your faith on account of challenges that will fizzle out in a matter of time; you have no need to remain fearful over issues that Jesus already prevailed over.

Don’t disappoint Jesus on account of temporary challenges. Don’t lose your faith because of what you are going through or have been through.

Declaration

Memory Verse

“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:” (1 Peter 1: 7)
