Our Focal Scripture makes mention of the death of Mahlon and Chilion, the two sons of Elimelech. Mahlon and Chilion died without having children. They took a journey into marriage, but they ended up unfruitful. They could not have the fruit of the womb. They entered into marriage but they had no result that should come through marriage; they would have made efforts to have children, but they both died fruitlessly.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not be fruitless. You won’t be empty-handed when it is time to reap a harvest; you will not be counted among those who had no results from their labour; you will not be counted among those whose lives were all activity without evidence; you will not be an example of unfruitfulness; you will not be counted among those who could not achieve what others achieved.
Notice that this was not a case of Mahlon having a child whilst Chilion had none or vice versa; both brothers did not have children. It was a case of unfruitfulness amongst members of the same family. Hear me as I hear the Lord: unfruitfulness will never become the trademark of your family. It will never be said that your family is known as that family that never has results. It will never be said that your family is empty-handed.
In this season and beyond, you will be fruitful on all sides. Your family will be fruitful; your business, career, ministry, academics, etc will be fruitful; your siblings, spouse, and children will all be fruitful. There shall be no unfruitful one amongst you; results shall follow you in quick succession; as you celebrate one harvest, another harvest shall follow suit; your fruitfulness shall neither be hindered nor reduced.
You belong to the generation that bears fruits that remain; you belong to the fruitful generation.
