In our Focal Scripture, the psalmist affirmed that the Lord prepares a table before him in the presence of his enemies. The Lord did not need to send the enemies away before preparing a table before him. Enemies were all around, but their presence did not stop what the Lord was doing. Enemies were all around, but their presence did not hinder the works of the Lord. Enemies were watching, but they could not stop the psalmist’s portion.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: enemies may still be watching, but they cannot stop your portion. Enemies may be observing the unfolding chapters of your life, but they cannot close those chapters. Enemies may be plotting to scatter your tables, but because the Lord is in charge of preparing same table, they can only but watch. Enemies may have their ideas about how you are not qualified to be on the table, but they can’t stop you.
The Lord left enemies to watch as the table was prepared for the psalmist, but they could do nothing to stop the preparation of the table. They could watch but could not interfere. They could watch but could not hinder what the Lord was doing. Welcome to that season where your naysayers and haters will watch but will be unable to scuttle what the Lord is doing in your life. Welcome to that season where your rising can’t be stopped no matter how many enemies gather.
Instead of focusing on your enemies and naysayers, focus on the Lord who is able to prepare tables before you even when the enemies are watching. Focus on the Lord who is able to make your enemies irrelevant in the scheme of things. Focus on the Lord who is able to make all things work in your favour even when the enemies have conspired against you. Focus on the Lord who knows how to make your naysayers insignificant.
There may be haters and naysayers all around you, but as surely as the Lord lives, they will not stop the new thing that the Lord is doing in your life. They may not like the table the Lord is preparing for you before their very eyes, but they cannot stop it.
